The structure of the school...
Is very simple!
We are all housed under one roof and the school functions across the age groups as a family community.
Academically the school operates as three departments, The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which incorporates Kindergarten, Pre-Reception and Reception, Key stage One (Years 1 and 2) and Key Stage Two (Years 3,4,5 and 6)
Great care and sensitivity is taken to ensure that new pupils transfer into The Mead quickly, happily and confidently and that all pupils move into their new classes each September with excitement and positive anticipation.
Transition meetings are held during the second half of the Summer Term to which all parents/carers are invited and during the final fortnight of the school year each class moves up into their prospective class for a very special morning where they get to know their new teachers and welcome new class members.
Year 6 are carefully and thoroughly prepared within The Mead for the move to secondary school by a structured and varied programme which includes study skills, growing up and personal safety and responsibility. A range of outside speakers visit and appropriate trips organised.
