Thu 5th Sep 2019 : A Warm Welcome Back to a New School Year
Welcome back to school to all our Meadites – with an especially warm welcome to all our new starters this term. It’s been wonderful to see the children looking so happy, refreshed and raring to go for the new school year ahead.
As we start Autumn Term we have lots of new exciting developments here at The Mead.
Supporting our fundamental ethos of prioritizing the well-being and happiness of the children, we have several new initiatives starting this term. Our morning break will now be a whole school event, strengthening the already strong bonds across the year groups; we now have a school allotment with the aim of the children planning and developing the plot collaboratively; Forest School will now be enjoyed by all year groups with every child having the opportunity to spend time learning in nature and finally we have a new school Reading Dog – Lexi the Cockerpoo, who started her ‘training’ today!
As part of our phased IT plan to provide competitive and cutting-edge IT resources for our pupils we have our first batch of Surface Gos & Pros (Microsoft Tablets) ready for children and staff to start using.
We have a fantastic new space for art, a re-vamped and extended outdoor space for our Kindy & Pre-Reception (kindly supported by Friends of The Mead) and a spacious new storage shed on the astro.
