Wed 12th Sep 2018 : STEAM: Young Scientists Learn Planning & Investigation Skills
As the new term gets underway our pupils have already been enjoying a fantastic range of scientific challenges in their STEAM classes.
The exciting curriculum area lead by Mrs Wilson encompasses science, technology, engineering, arts and maths.
The pupils have been learning how to plan as scientists in a variety of fun and challenging experiments, identifying variables and thinking about how to make tests fair.
Some of the hands-on experiments the children from Year 1 - Year 6 have tried so far include testing the strength of an egg by looking at different variables, investigating sugar solutions by creating coloured dream jars, exploring Bee-Bot robots and a 'Fruit Olympics' to test how far a variety of fruits would travel when rolled down ramps of various heights and lengths.
