Wed 11th Oct 2017 : 'A Rhapsody of Words' for Key Stage 2
'To Be or Not To Be? That is the Question.' It was certainly 'to be' for our Key Stage 2 pupils yesterday when they enjoyed a wonderful day of interactive workshops based on the play Hamlet with The Young Shakespeare Company.
The talented team of professional actors lead an action-packed drama workshop, involving the children in the story, language and characters of the Bard's well known play. This culminated in a fast-moving abridged performance of the play using Shakespeare's language with lots of audience participation.
Mrs Victoria Hall, Head of Performing Arts said: "The children were involved in an interactive workshop in the morning and then watched and took part in the performance in the afternoon. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children and great for them to experience Shakespeare's work in this way. They were absolutely transfixed from the first moment."
